RS enhances its PCB component models

22 February 2017 News

RS Components has extended its relationship with SamacSys, the world’s leading supplier of high-quality PCB schematic symbols and footprints. RS is now offering direct access to schematic symbols and footprints from SamacSys, for all PCB components, via the new PCB Part Library service.

Studies have shown that up to 50% of an electronics design engineer’s time can be spent on sourcing and managing data for component models used within design software tools. PCB Part Library provides immediate access to high-quality component models, thereby saving electronics engineers and PCB designers from the time consuming and potentially error prone task of manually curating their part libraries.

PCB Part Library schematic symbols and footprints can be used in all leading PCB design software environments including the free-for-download DesignSpark PCB software from RS. The part models can be downloaded directly from RS web pages under the Technical Reference section. Once selected, the PCB schematics and footprints are immediately available for use and placement by the user, in the desired file format for their particular design tool.

Users can find out more information or get started for free by visiting DesignSpark.
