Infineon’s TLD 5085EJ is a smart LED buck converter with an integrated power switch capable of driving up to 1,8 A load current with excellent line and load regulation. The device is primarily aimed at stepping down input voltage and regulating a constant LED current. The constant current regulation is especially beneficial for LED colour accuracy and longer lifetimes. This IC is suitable for use in harsh automotive environments and provides protection functions such as current limitation and over-temperature shutdown. The integrated soft-start feature prevents current and voltage overshoot at the output when the device is started up. The input voltage range is from 4,75 V to 45 V and the output current is adjustable up to 1,8 A.
