Graphical programming extension for .NET offered free

20 April 2005 Design Automation

Softwire Technology has announced that its SoftWIRE product will now be offered free of charge to any individual or corporation worldwide. The award winning SoftWIRE package allows users to quickly and easily create software applications in .NET, without writing any code. Users simply select the graphical user interface (GUI) controls required for the application from over 200 provided, then connect the controls with simple drag-and-drop wires.

"By offering this product for free, we will provide an open graphical programming standard which will benefit the entire measurement industry," said Bendrix Bailey, CEO of Softwire Technology. "We already have a number of OEMs that have committed to standardise on SoftWIRE, and that number will rise dramatically as people consider the powerful software they may now provide their customers at no charge."

Softwire and its sister company Measurement Computing is represented in South Africa by Osiris Technical Systems, a Centurion-based company that specialises in industrial and laboratory data acquisition systems, ruggedised computers, military and industrial laptops and PDAs.

The SoftWIRE software may be downloaded free of charge from www.softwire.com.
