480 W DIN rail power supply

14 November 2007 Power Electronics / Power Management

XP Power has introduced the latest addition to the DNR range of DIN rail mounted, industrial AC-DC power supplies. The DNR480, a single output 480 W model, offers universal input, accepting voltages from 90 to 264 V a.c. single phase without the need for switch selection, or 340 to 575 V a.c. three phase, depending on the model. Both 24 and 48 V d.c. output variants have adjustable outputs from 22,5 to 28,5 V d.c. for the 24 V model and 47,0 to 56,0 V d.c. for the 48 V model. For applications requiring increased power, up to three units may be connected in parallel.

Another important feature of the DNR480 single phase series are the input and output connector options of detachable screw terminals, which dramatically reduce MTTR (mean time to repair) in customer applications, as well as standard fixed screw terminals are both available.

The DNR480 is capable of operating from -25°C to +70°C. It operates at full power up to +55°C and then derates linearly to a maximum of 60% full power. The power supply is highly efficient, with the 24 V d.c. unit rated at 89%, and 90% for the 48 V d.c. variant. DC ON and DC LOW LED status indicators are provided on both models. Additionally, DC OK status signal is available on the 24 V d.c. model. A DC standby option is also available. Single phase models measure 175 x 125 x 116 mm, excluding the DIN mount and optional detachable connectors. Three phase versions are 150 x 124 x 112 mm.

The DNR480 has EN60950 and UL508 safety approvals that cover IT and industrial equipment respectively. Typical applications include DIN rail mounted factory automation, light industrial, instrumentation and process control.
