Robust Eurocard cases

29 August 2001 Manufacturing / Production Technology, Hardware & Services

OKW's Mettec Eurocard cases are designed for housing Eurocard size PCBs: 100 x 160 or 100 x 220 mm.

The enclosures are of modern stylish design and very robust. The case body consists of a single box-section aluminium extrusion, which includes five internal guide rails for mounting Eurocards on pitches of 5,08 mm. At the front and rear there are two screw-on die-cast bezels which house the front and rear panels. An aluminium rear panel is also included in the kit.

An anodised aluminium front panel can be ordered as a separate accessory and includes ABS trims to hide the fixing screws. A mounting kit is also available for fitting the Eurocard to the front panel to create a plug-in unit.

There are two case sizes: 50 x152,5 x 220 and 50 x 152,5 x 280 mm. There is 46 mm of internal clearance between the PCB and rear panel to allow for connectors, ribbon cables etc. The cases are painted light grey RAL 7035 and are supplied with all fixings and four self-adhesive nonslip feet.

These enclosures can be customised to suit the customer's components. Options include: machining holes and cutouts for connectors, switches etc, as well as silk-screen printing and painting in other colours.
