Digital attenuator for DC to 40 GHz

27 August 2014 Analogue, Mixed Signal, LSI

M/A-COM Technology Solutions announced a new wideband 6-bit digital attenuator for broadband applications such as military radar and radio, test equipment, and commercial microwave radio and satellite links.

The chip is offered in both bare die form and in a 3 mm PQFN package, which operate from DC up to 40 GHz and 30 GHz respectively. In either format, it provides up to 31,5 dB of attenuation in 0,5 dB steps with attenuation error typically less than ±0,5 dB and phase accuracy of 4 degrees RMS error at 20 GHz.

The device integrates TTL digital control and is fully matched across the bandwidth of operation.
