LEM has expanded its HO series of current transducers with new models offering a tradeoff between performance, cost, size and mounting versatility. The six product families cover nominal current ranges from 2,67 A to 250 A. They are available in printed circuit board (PCB) mounting versions (through-hole and surface-mount) or multiple panel mounting versions. An aperture or integrated primary conductors are also available.
The HO series are based on an ASIC (application specific integrated circuit) which brings open-loop transducer performance closer to closed-loop types, providing better control and higher accuracy at a significantly lower price.
Features include operation from a single +5 V or +3,3 V power supply, fast response time from 2,5 to 3,5 μs, up to 8 mm creepage and clearance, an over-drivable reference voltage, a fault report function, over-current detection on a dedicated connection, and operation from -40°C to 105°C.
