SAEI Expo pre-registration problems for some; workaround in place

18 May 2016 News

Some people attempting to register online for the South African Electronics Industry (SAEI) Expo at AREI’s (Association of Representatives for the Electronics Industry) website have been encountering problems. This is a result of a temporary problem with the www.arei.co.za website’s domain registration, according to AREI’s administrator, Jenny Gooding, and a workaround has been put in place while the issue is resolved.

“We are still experiencing severe problems with the arei website,” explains Gooding. “Metroweb who hosted our domain have gone under. To transfer the domain to Afrihost is a long and very complicated process that has involved the domain registry legal department and ZA Domains. There is some light at the end of the tunnel, however, that is not the oncoming train, but I have been informed that it will be another five days before we will be up and running.”

In the meantime, pre-registration can be done at http://goo.gl/lfRN1S.
