P24 Interconnect gains Weitkowitz agency

10 August 2016 Interconnection

Attention to the growing needs of its customer base has resulted in P24 Interconnect aligning itself with a number of reputable global manufacturers of high-quality components. Although the company has been an unofficial sole agent for Weitkowitz since 2013, a visit to the manufacturer’s facilities in Peine, Germany in November 2015 led to the company being selected as Weitkowitz’s representative of choice for southern Africa.

Founded in 1918, Weitkowitz is a leading German lug and terminal manufacturer. “They offer a range of over 3000 high-quality and cost-effective lugs, cord-ends and relevant tooling. In addition to the proven reliability and performance of the product range, the pricing is extremely competitive, in terms of both other international as well as local manufacturers. This allows us to pass the benefit in cost saving on to our own customers,” says P24 Interconnect CEO, Quentin van den Bergh.

P24 Interconnect distributes the entire range of products and is able to provide turnaround times of 48 hours on ex-stock items, while new orders have a lead time of 14 to 21 working days. “By incorporating Weitkowitz into our product line, we now have an even larger range of products to complement our offering to the high-current, energy (power generation and distribution) and railway markets. Similarly, Weitkowitz benefits by having a dedicated sales channel in the southern African region, thereby ensuring that its products achieve positive exposure in the local transportation and energy markets,” adds van den Bergh.

The Weitkowitz premium quality range covers all cable types and sizes for copper and aluminium terminals, and is certified to the highest industry standards. P24 Interconnect can now offer its customers both engineering and tooling support on the range, and is geared up to process all wire sizes up to 400 mm2 in-house. Pull-off test verification can be done up to a maximum of 50 kN.
