1000 W full brick with 12 V output

11 October 2017 Power Electronics / Power Management

Calex announced the introduction of the 1000 W full brick FXM 12 Vout DC-DC converter. The 24S12.84FXM has an ultra-wide 9 to 36 V input range and provides a regulated, isolated 12 V output rated up to 84 A. It also provides an output for current monitoring and an additional output for monitoring the temperature of the converter.

With an operating baseplate temperature range of -40ºC to +105ºC, thermal management is made easier by the converter’s efficiency of 95%. The FXM, measuring 12 x 6,35 x 1,32 cm, comes with threaded inserts for baseplate or heatsink mounting for extended temperature operation.

The input to output isolation voltage of the FXM is 1500 V d.c., as are the input to baseplate and output to baseplate isolation. The switching frequency is fixed at 200 kHz. The FXM features on/off control. With 12 and 24 V battery applications in mind, the off state current draw is typically 2 mA. Output ripple and noise is 120 mV peak to peak.

The converter is protected by over-current and short circuit protection, over-temperature protection, output over-voltage protection and input under-voltage lockout. It is backed by a five year warranty and features a MTBF of 5,4 million hours.
