Continuously variable attenuator

11 October 2017 Telecoms, Datacoms, Wireless, IoT

ARRA Microwave released the new Model 3814-10 continuously variable attenuator with a frequency span of 1 to 2 GHz and 0 to 10 dB attenuation. Attenuation resettability is 0,1 dB or better for use in the most challenging applications, such as in measurement and military electronic systems.

The device exhibits maximum insertion loss of 0,5 dB across the full bandwidth and can handle input signals to 5 W average power and as much as 3 kW peak power for short pulses. Maximum VSWR is 1,80:1. The continuously variable attenuator is supplied with stainless steel, female SMA connectors and designed for operating temperatures from -55°C to +85°C.

The standard forms are ideal for applications where the attenuation level can be set and then locked and left for long periods of time without movement. Turns-counting dials are available for panel mount applications where calibration or reference for resetting is required.
