Alutronic has collaborated with SEPA Europe to develop an enhanced cooling solution for its Powerblocs heatsinks. By mounting an axial fan, the effectiveness of the new Kühligel solution can be increased considerably at little cost, while maintaining their lightweight and space saving advantages.
Thanks to thorough design and testing, the companies managed to develop a heatsink that enables fan mounting without extensive metal work using conventional screws. The choice of the suitable fan (in terms of size; choice of sleeve or ball bearings; 5, 12 or 24 V d.c.; and choice of tacho and connector) enables an optimum combination for the application in question. The fans used have a mean-time before failure of up to 350 000 hours at 40°C and thus meet the highest requirements.
