Arrow Electronics has announced the appointment of Harriet Green to Vice President of Global Strategy and Business Development. This will be in addition to her responsibility within Arrow for Arrow Altech Distribution, headquartered in Jet Park, Johannesburg
Effective immediately, Harriet Green will report directly to Fran Scricco, President and CEO of Arrow Electronics. She will also receive a chair on Arrow's Executive Committee. In her new role, Green will focus on the company's future strategic direction, driving new business initiatives and ventures, and communicating that direction to suppliers, customers, employees and shareholders.
This appointment recognises that such critical major initiatives cut across traditional organisational boundaries and need high level commitment and attention to realise the full potential of the organisation, both now and in the future. Green will continue with her responsibility for Arrow Altech and visit and support the operations there.
Harriet Green is well known across the electronics industry and brings a blend of strategic vision, truly global experience and proven business leadership skills to her role. She has successfully pioneered several new positions for Arrow including Arrow's first Pan-European staff executive, as Europe's Vice President of Marketing in 1994. She then formed Arrow's Northern European business platform as Managing Director of that region and led the company's first joint venture in Africa. For the past 20 months, as President of Arrow CMS, Green has effectively steered the North American contract manufacturing business through challenging periods of dramatic growth, integration and industry downturn.
