Otto distributes Samtec

30 March 2011 News

Otto Marketing has entered into a distributorship agreement with Samtec, a leading American connectivity manufacturer, which came into effect on 1 January this year. The agreement will enable Otto to distribute and support Samtec products throughout the southern African region.

“Whether the need is for high-speed, micro-pitch or rugged interconnect products, Samtec’s standard off-the-shelf solutions will support nearly every application,” says Barry Culligan, Otto Marketing MD.

According to Culligan, the Samtec range offers high-end connector products from a company renowned for its quality as well as innovation, including miniaturisation and pushing the envelope at the top-end for speed and flexibility.

“One of the most impressive parts of Samtec’s service offering is the fast turn-around times on orders. We are receiving products in South Africa from the USA within seven to 10 days of placing orders. This is a huge advantage for clients wishing to get products to market quickly,” comments Culligan. “And apart from its exceptional logistics function, Samtec also offers customisable solutions for a client’s specific requirements. Its design team is able to combine many different features and ‘weave’ products together in a flexible, integrated way to meet just about any application-specific requirement.”

In order to establish the product market for the Samtec range, Otto Marketing has appointed Robert Reynolds as the responsible field application engineer (FAE). Reynolds was formerly with Samtec as the country manager for distributor support and hence brings a wealth of product knowledge and market experience.
