Seven-segment displays promise high uniformity and consistency

9 March 2005 Opto-Electronics

BivarOpto has introduced a complete new line of seven-segment displays that deliver high levels of uniformity, and feature very tight BIN control processes for greatest brightness and colour consistency. These new seven-segment displays, that use the same LED chips (dice) as used in BivarOpto discrete and SMT LEDs, are considered ideal for demanding industrial, commercial and medical applications.

The new BD Series is available in a range of single-digit seven segment LED displays, ranging in six different digit heights from 7 mm to 25,4 mm, in 24 different styles and models. Common anode or cathode circuitry enables use in any numeric display configuration, including right and left hand decimal and 18 alpha characters. Standard wavelengths range from 465 nm to 630 nm, providing the full range of standard colours (blue, green, yellow and red). Standard face colour is black with white diffused segments.

BivarOpto also offers segment displays in arrays of digits from 2-8 with overflow (±) and clock display options.
