Gigavac has released the new GX200, an RoHS compliant 350+ A contactor with a rated operating voltage up to 750+ V, both DC and AC.
The GX200 uses Gigavac’s EPIC (extended performance impervious ceramic) sealing technology to provide a ceramic-to-metal seal rated to 175°C, reducing risk of fire or meltdown in over-current conditions. The contactor is designed to meet UL1604 for Class I and II, Div 2 and Class III for use in hazardous locations, IP67 for temporary water immersion for 30 min, SAE J1171 – external ignition protection, and ISO 8846 for protection against ignition around flammable gases.
Unlike the PWM coil economiser found in other manufacturers’ contactors that can cause crosstalk on system control power or radiate noise, the GX200 uses high-efficiency dual coils – one drops out after the contactor is energised, providing low power to keep the contactor energised. Additionally, the GX200 has a built-in power terminal safety cover which provides assurance of a safe connection without the use of metal fastening screws. The safety cover can be removed in applications where it is not needed.
The GX200 measures 70,2 mm in height, 59,5 mm in width and 80,7 mm in length. Stainless steelhardware and mounting inserts provide years of corrosion free service. Single pole, double throw (SPDT) auxiliary contacts rated at 2 A are available as an option.
