Waterproof panel PCs

20 January 2010 Computer/Embedded Technology

Aaeon has released two new multipurpose, waterproof panel PCs in the form of the FOX-151 and FOX-81.

These two PCs were designed to deal with the harsh and rugged environments that require sealed enclosures and optical bonding panels. They offer a 15” XVGA colour LCD display which is sunlight-readable and features touch functionality.

Both the FOX-151 and FOX-81 adopt the Intel Atom N270 processor (up to 1,6 GHz) and up to 2 GB of DDRII SODIMM system memory. The low power consumption is one of the key features on both these models. In addition, both units deploy flexible I/O connectors, which are IP67 rated for waterproof performance. Aaeon specifically utilises the M12 screw-type connectors to prepare the PCs for severe environments and harsh applications. Both models also support optional 10/100/1000Base-TX Ethernet functions to provide faster network communication. Wireless LAN with dual internal antennas is an optional feature.
