The 6000 m2 warehouse and office facility provides a business centre for approximately 150 staff, with regional offices in Cape Town and Durban. Industrial Components Group
AAD offers a vast range of world-class, value-added services. These include: kitting; cable assembly; chip design; programming; just-in-time (JIT)/Kanban shipments; sub assemblies; bar coding; dedicated inventory; special/buffer stock holding single invoices for multiple shipments; specialist technical support; special custom part numbers; multiple supplier products from a single source; sophisticated order status summaries; design support for all product areas; internal technical support teams; automated replenishment systems (CARES); consolidated shipments and EDI component sourcing. Computer Products Group
The Computer Products Group (CPG) of Arrow Altech Distribution evolved from Pretoria-based EBE, a CPU, motherboard and networking products supplier with Intel. A long-serving flagship principal of 28 years, it evolved to a division that now carries 30 additional computer product lines from 17 leading manufacturers - well known names such as Intel, LG, Matrox, AMD, Seagate, Creative Labs, HP, Biostar, Microsoft and others.
This broad line transition took place in a short space of time and forms part of AAD's goal to be an active and leading player in the IT industry. The full house 'stack' of products complements Altech's strategy of exploiting the convergence between telecommunications, multimedia and IT. AAD CPG leverages from the Arrow supplier relationship, and as such has access to its Microtronica inventory in the UK and Europe when required. CPG also boasts 'Certified Technical Staff 'who are able to assist in complex network designs and solutions and can provide pre- and post sales support on a broad range of products and systems.
Quality management
AAD achieved its ISO 9001:2000 certification in November 2001. Not only is AAD one of a select few South African companies certified to the new international quality management standard, it is the only company in the local distribution business to have attained the certification to date.
