Countersurveillance and surveillance equipment exhibitions

July 2003 News & Events, DSP, Micros & Memory

TSCM Services, Parinto Corporate Risk Management, VIP Technologies and Corporate Crime Management (CCM) of Pretoria have decided to conduct equipment exhibitions again throughout South Africa.

The decision was taken following the positive feedback received, as well as the success of the previous exhibitions that were held in Pretoria, Durban and Cape Town. The next exhibition will take place in the Eastern Cape on 1 August 2003.

The Gauteng exhibition took place on 23 May 2003 at the Centurion Lake Hotel and was a great success. Attendees were from various government departments, foreign embassies and the corporate sector. The exhibiting companies have established themselves as the leaders in southern Africa regarding the supply and distribution of high quality surveillance and countersurveillance equipment to government and the corporate security industry.

TSCM is still a neglected area, with many companies not yet realising that they are vulnerable to electronic eavesdropping attacks. Many still do not have policies and procedures to counter the threat of illegal eavesdropping and monitoring, do not budget for the services/equipment and training or make use of untrained service providers with inferior equipment.

TSCM Services exhibited a wide range of new countersurveillance equipment. Due to advances in surveillance technology it has now become necessary to do radio frequency (RF) searches and scans above the traditional ceiling of 5 GHz. The OSCOR Countermeasures receiver is now capable of scanning RF frequencies up to 21 GHz.

Parinto displayed various technical devices that can be used during investigations to collect audio, data and video evidence. The ingenuity and effectiveness of some of the covert devices surprised many professionals. Many of these devices are designed and manufactured in the Parinto workshops in Pretoria.

VIP Technologies specialises exclusively in visual inspection products that can be used in countermeasures, investigations and industrial inspections.

corporate crime management (CCM) offers various solutions to solve business crime and fraud matters.

The next equipment exhibition will take place in Port Elizabeth on 1 August 2003 at the Protea Marine Hotel in Port Elizabeth. This will be the first time that an exhibition of this nature will be held in the Eastern Cape on this level. The Cape Town exhibition is scheduled for 3 October 2003 at the Cullinan Hotel, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town. The exhibitions will run from 10:00-17:00 at both venues.
