Available from ARC Technologies is the Hot Melt Absorber, providing a simple and fast way for manufacturers to apply absorber in their own facility, to a surface that requires noise suppression, for example a printed circuit board. Customers can apply the product with any heat gun that reaches 149°C, and different hot melt products are available depending on application and frequency requirements.
The HM2000 magnetic absorber has a frequency range between 1 and 18 GHz and is ideal for high-frequency applications, such as connectors, wiring, chips, etc., that require superior near-field EMI attenuation from 1 - 18 GHz. For lower frequency EMI issues the HM3000 can be used, which is ideal for UHF and VHF frequencies.
This product can be used in any phase of the building process of an application, but may be especially helpful in the testing and design phase. The simplicity of this solution makes it an attractive way to solve EMI issues. It can be purchased in stick form that can be placed right into a glue gun, or in pellet form to be thermoformed.
