A new range of open-frame 80 W power supplies recently launched by XP Power offers a compact and low-cost solution for a wide range of lighting, display, industrial and technology applications. The low-cost units offer high specifications at a competitive price point, ensuring their suitability for high-volume applications.
The LCE80 is ideally suited for fanless applications as no forced air is required. This significantly enhances the reliability of the overall system while reducing system size and weight as well as simplifying mechanical design. The silent fanless operation makes the LCE80 ideally suited to applications where audible noise can be an issue, such as office environments.
The LCE80 range features a total of ten single-output models covering the range from 5,0 V to 54,0 V, with efficiency levels as high as 90%. The output operates in constant voltage or constant current mode depending on the load condition, ensuring compatibility with a wide variety of applications.
An ultra-wide input range of 90 to 305 V a.c. is offered as standard, allowing the units to operate safely at a single-phase high line voltage of 277 V a.c. nominal. All units in the range offer Class I and Class II operation and carry a wide range of relevant approvals including EN55032, EN55015 and EN61000-3 for EMC emissions and EN55035 and EN61547 for EMC immunity. Additionally, the units are approved to EN/UL/IEC62368-1 for ITE safety and EN61347-1/UL8750 for lighting and displays.
For loads greater than 50 W, all LCE80 units meet the harmonic Class C limits that are necessary for lighting applications. They are also compliant with the limited power source (LPS) requirements for 12 V and above, ensuring a reduced risk of fire or electrocution during operation and handling, as well as in fault scenarios.
Housed in a convenient and compact 101,6 x 50,8 x 27,9 mm open-frame format, the LCE80 units include short circuit, over-voltage and overload protection to protect the power supply and any load that it is powering.
