CSIR Learning Factory supports skills development and innovation in 4IR

The CSIR has established a Learning Factory to support South African industries in acquiring the skills needed to maximise the benefits of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). The first online course – an introduction to the 4IR in South Africa – is now available and delivered fully online, accessible free of charge at your convenience until 31 January 2022. Training covers the following themes:
• Internet-of-Things.
• Digital lifecycle management.
• Augmented reality for supplementing human operation.
• Totally integrated automated and robotics.
• Additive manufacturing.
• Smart systems for smart infrastructure.

• Big data analytics.
• Simulation.
• Cloud computing and edge processing.
