Mouser to sponsor the EW Project Challenge 2022

30 May 2022 News

Mouser Electronics is excited to be the primary sponsor of the ElectronicWings Project Challenge 2022, a global design contest aimed at benefiting society through innovation in sustainable and efficient technologies. The major challenge presented by the contest is: How can we make tomorrow more sustainable and efficient using technology to solve real-world problems? The contest challenges both engineers and designers to create projects that advance agriculture, manufacturing, transportation and logistics, community development, healthcare and fitness, or the environment.

The contest is organised by ElectronicWings, a hardware developer community that promotes learning and innovation in IoT, machine learning (ML), edge computing, artificial intelligence (AI) and hardware. Last year the Mouser-sponsored EW Project Challenge welcomed proposals from 941 participants across 35 countries, with 176 final projects submitted.

“Mouser is proud to once again sponsor the EW Project Challenge, which gives engineers the opportunity to show the community their innovative designs,” said Daphne Tien, Mouser vice president, APAC Marketing & Business Development. “Mouser strives to support this innovation, offering the latest tools, services and resources to expedite design, prototyping and validation”.

Ganesh Khomane, founder of the ElectronicWings Community, said: “The support of Mouser Electronics bolsters the community’s efforts to drive innovation though interaction, engagement, collaboration and learning”.

All project submissions will appear in the ElectronicWings community through an open-source licence. Entrants can submit multiple entries, and each project will be considered as an individual entry. Team members of every successful submission will receive a certificate of successful participation within seven working days.

The ElectronicWings Project Challenge 2022 offers prizes totalling over R80 000. The first 50 project submissions will be awarded early-bird prizes, and the judges will also choose the top 3 submissions for cash awards, as well as the top 25 creative projects which will win cash prizes.

The contest is open now and runs until 19 September 2022, with winners announced on 7 October.
