Samtec has announced an update to its on-site search experience which will make finding the correct connector a far easier task. The first upgrade was to create an on-site part number search by partnering with Octopart, a global search engine for electronic parts. Incremental upgrades to the search facility also improve its performance and mobile compatibility.
Many user experience (UX) upgrades were designed into the new on-site search. Firstly, the layout of the search results has a wider view, giving far more information on each part found in the search, including the part number, description, pricing and image. Another change to the UX is that all distributor stock is now aggregated into a link that can be clicked on to access further details, allowing much quicker access to the desired information. The final update to the UX is to the call-to-action buttons which have been enlarged for easy access and readability.
All these upgrades serve to make the search feature on the site (www.samtec.com) much more user-friendly and quicker to gain relevant information.
