The TDM3883 integrated point-of-load (IPOL) power module with an integrated inductor is a fully integrated 3 A buck converter in an easy-to-design package. It offers high-efficiency load and line regulation over a wide input supply range with a compact design of only 2,7 x 3,1 x 2,3 mm. The module has a single-input voltage range of 4,5 to 14 V and has a continuous load capability of 3 A.
With integrated inductor and capacitors, it reduces external components and saves 80% of PCB area. Therefore, the TDM3883 allows a much higher power density while minimising any parasitic parameters. The module has thermally compensated over-current protection with a thermal shutdown built in.
This highly efficient and reliable step-down DC/DC converter is ideal for system designers looking for a compact and fast-to-market solution in applications such as telecoms and datacoms, network storage and servers. The module is also suited for use in FPGA/DSP in industrial and automotive applications.
