Audi South Africa offers free connectivity upgrades
29 June 2022
News
Audi has announced it will upgrade select models from 2008 onwards that do not have Audi connect installed using its new connect ‘plug-and-play’ technology. The upgrades will be performed free of charge at Audi dealerships countrywide.
The technology allows a smartphone to pair with the vehicle via Bluetooth to allow communication with the vehicle, thereby providing a range of digital services. Recent Audi models already offer this functionality. With real-time vehicle data, Audi connect plug and play turns the car into a connected vehicle. “The retrofit solution offers diverse connectivity features and benefits for older vehicles,” the company said.
The following services are offered to drivers of older Audi models once the system is installed:
• Select data including distance travelled, fuel levels and chassis number.
• Driving style evaluation.
• The number of days/kilometres until the next service appointment.
• Roadside assistance.
• Digital logbook making it easy to record trip details such as starting point and destination, date and time, journey time and route used, and export them for later use.
