The MDP-P906 from Miniware and available through Elektor is a tiny digital power supply that packs a multitude of features that makers would love to have on their tinkering bench. The unit features a digital power module with an embedded display control module for finetuning the output power requirements.
The module accepts a DC input of 4,2 to 30 V, with the source being either a power supply, a battery or a Li-ion power bank. Connecting to USB-C via its QC/PD input allows the unit to source up to 20 V at 5 A.
The power management system provides a 95% efficient linear output in the range 0 to 30 V, with a resolution of 1 mV/2 mA. Output power is limited to 10 A at 30 V (300 W). Output accuracy for voltage is 0,03% + 5 mV and for current is 0,05% + 2 mA.
Measured ripple is less than 250 µV, providing a very stable output supply. Transient response is less than 4 µs.
The modules feature over- and under-voltage protection and have reverse polarity protection. They also protect against over-temperature and output over-current conditions.
Units can be connected in series to provide a dual-rail output, or they can be connected in parallel to increase the output current capabilities.
