AMD Artix evaluation platform

30 September 2024 DSP, Micros & Memory

The Avnet AUBoard 15P Development Kit is a new evaluation platform designed for engineers to rapidly begin developing solutions around AMD Artix UltraScale+ FPGAs, based on a production-proven 16 nm architecture. The range of interfaces enabled on the board are optimised to support a variety of applications, including machine vision frame grabbers, medical imaging acquisition and processing, and industrial networking.

The feature-rich AU15P device features 170K programmable logic cells and 12 GTH 16,3 Gbps transceivers. The board contains 2 GB DDR4 memory and can boot from the 512 Mb of ISSI QSPI Flash. A Microchip PHY enables the 10/100/1000 Ethernet interface.

A microUSB port provides on-board JTAG/UART access, and a Renesas clock generator and ECS crystal oscillators provide clocking to the AU15P device, GTH transceivers, JTAG, and communication interfaces.

A combination of slide switches, push buttons, and LEDs (red and RGB) allow user interaction with the board with a temperature sensor from STMicroelectronics adding environmental data to the system.

Additionally, 80 FPGA I/Os are exposedthrough the Samtec connectors for FMC LPC high-speed expansion and one Click Board site. The board is powered from a 60 W power supply.
