SignalQuest has introduced two new tilt sensors – the bidirectional SQ-SEN-815B and the omnidirectional SQ-MIN-200 which adds vibration sensing functionality.
The SQ-SEN-815B bidirectional tilt sensor, with industrial temperature rating and SMT form factor, offers intrinsic zero power tilt detection to a host of designs in consumer, industrial, medical, security and other markets. Measuring 3,3 mm in diameter by 6,9 mm in length, the package fits on a standard two-pad SMT landing.
Featuring zero power normally, the device consumes < 50 nA when activated. It features a 15° (bidirectional) activation angle and requires no signal conditioning. High sensitivity and long life are assured by semiconductor-grade electroplating, and the sensor produces an undetectable sound level.
The SQ-MIN-200 omnidirectional tilt and vibration sensor offers motion detection to a range of size-constrained devices such as RFID tags, GPS trackers, pet monitors, Bluetooth ear pieces, wrist watches and hearing aids. Measuring just 1,95 mm in diameter by 3,6 mm in length, the package will fit on a standard two-pad SMT landing.
Following the success of the SQ-SEN series tilt and vibration sensors, the SQ-MIN aims to make ultra long battery life and movement-based functionality accessible for extremely small devices. With a current demand below the self discharge of a CR2032 coin cell, the SQ-MIN allows products needing active motion detection to last 20 years on a single battery.
