15 W DC-DC converters

11 July 2012 Power Electronics / Power Management

XP Power announced two new families of metal-cased 15 W DC-DC converters. Available in an industry standard 24 pin DIP measuring 31,75 x 20,32 x 10,16 mm, the JCG15 and JTF15 series offer a power density of up to 2,29 W per cm³. with an efficiency of up to 91%.

Providing the popular nominal inputs of +12, +24 or +48 V d.c., the JCG15 series accommodates 2:1 input ranges of 9 to 18 V d.c., 18 to 36 V d.c. and 36 to 75 V d.c., with the JTF15 accepting 4:1 inputs of 9 to 36 V d.c. and 18 to 75 V d.c. Both single- and dual-output models are available. Single outputs are +3,3, +5,1, +12 or +15 V d.c. and duals are ±5, ±12 or ±15 V d.c.

The converters have an input to output and input/output to case isolation of 1600 V d.c. A remote on/off signal control is standard across the range and can be used to control the output rails or to sequence startup procedures. All units feature over-voltage and continuous short circuit protection. They operate from

-40°C to +100°C for the JCG series and +105°C for the JTF series.
