Professional Technical Systems (PTS) is a Centurion-based company offering a range of services including electronic product development, printed circuit board design, electronic product conformance testing, embedded development, test jigs and solar system development.

The company is owned and run by managing director, George Hugo, who identified that certain customers in the marketplace were dissatisfied with the quality of service they were receiving from their existing suppliers. The success of the company’s service-focused approach is evidenced by the fact that what started as Hugo’s after-hours project in 2008 grew into a full-time job in 2011.

Having overcome obstacles such as an administrative error which delayed its company registration process, PTS now aims to take advantage of the skills shortage in the South African telecommunications industry by expanding into the areas of optical fibre communications, satellite communications and wireless communications in the coming years.
