New from TDK-Lambda is the ZWS-B series of printed circuit board type AC-DC power supplies – 30% smaller, lighter and more efficient than the earlier generation ZWS series.
The units comply with the energy saving requirements of the ErP (Energy related Products) directive, featuring <0,5 W no-load input power. Suitable for use in a wide range of light industrial equipment and front-end equipment for broadcast and communications applications, the ZWS-B is also relevant for applications in indoor and outdoor LED signage and test and measurement.
Available in three low-power models – the ZWS10B (10 W), ZWS15B (15 W) and ZWS30B (30 W) – the ZWS-B series is a compact product that offers an efficiency of up to 86%. In addition, the convection-cooled power supplies feature an operating temperature range of -10°C to +70°C, allowing 100% load operation in a +50°C environment and 70% load at +60°C.
Operating from a universal input of 85 to 265 V a.c. or 120 to 370 V d.c., the ZWS-B series is offered with a choice of output voltages from 3,3 V to 24 V. Each model can be adjusted by ±10% of its nominal voltage to accommodate non-standard system voltages. Standard features include over-current and over-voltage protection circuitry; options include remote on/off feature, L-plate or L-plate plus cover, conformal coating of the PCB and a fixed output voltage.
