China Sourcing Fair gears up for third year

The China Sourcing Fair is set to stage its third successive annual edition at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg on 28 to 30 November 2012.

The event’s December 2011 staging saw thousands of buyers checking out various quality products from Greater Chinese exhibitors. More than simply providing buyers with quality suppliers and cost-effective products, the fair also presents a free conference programme featuring relevant topics on China sourcing for beginner and veteran entrepreneurs.

China remains one of South Africa's major sources of imports: in 2009, the Chinese mainland surpassed Germany as the biggest importer to South Africa, as China’s trade with Africa grew 39,5% to $27,92 billion in the first seven months of that year alone.

Having drawn over 7000 professional buyers and featured over 820 booths in total last year, the show is expected to attract in excess of 800 exhibitors again this year, not just in electronics but also retail categories like home products, gifts, fashion and hardware.

Electronics, solar and energy-saving products will once again be highlighted to serve buyers in South Africa and neighbouring markets. Other technology areas covered will include computer accessories, LED displays and commercial lighting, and energy-efficient lighting and accessories.
