Multi-output 60 W power supplies

20 February 2013 Power Electronics / Power Management

XP Power announced the ECP60 series of compact 60 Watt AC-DC power supplies. Boasting typical efficiency of 88%, the units measure 101,6 x 50,8 x 30,4 mm and fit into an industry standard footprint. With no-load power consumption of less than 0,5 W they help designers ensure their products comply with internationally recognised ‘green’ energy efficiency specifications.

The ECP60 series comprises eight models offering a +5 V d.c. single output, three dual-output and four triple-output models. Dual-output models have +5 V d.c. and an additional +12, +15 or +24 V d.c. output option. Triple-output variants offer +5 Vd.c. on output 1 with options of ±12 V d.c., ±15 V d.c., +24/+12 V d.c. and +24/-12 V d.c. on outputs 2 and 3.

The units also feature a peak load capability that can provide up to 130% of rated output power for up to 30 seconds. This is ideal for applications, such as motor startup, where a higher wattage supply is very occasionally required.

The ECP60 are convection cooled units, with no additional forced air cooling being required. They are capable of operating over a wide range of temperatures from -20°C to +70°C, with no derating until +50°C.
