The YT series of mobile masts from Clark Masts is optimised for vehicle mounting, where a short retracted length is required. The mast in the accompanying photograph (mounted on a VW Transporter) has a retracted height of 2,1 m and an extended height of 12 m, making it useful for mounting on lightweight vehicles.
The company manufactures a telescopic portable mast system for every application, from 3 to 30 m, with head loads ranging from 1 kg up to more than 100 kg. The masts are extended simply by applying compressed air to the base tube. Once air pressure is released, the mast will slowly retract to its closed position in a highly controlled manner. A full range of vehicle mounting and air supply accessories is available.
Applications include RF field strength measurement for GSM cellular, digital terrestrial television, mobile base stations for cellular telephones, air quality sampling, low-level aerial photography, military communications, survey instruments or any requirement where an antenna or scientific instrument needs to be elevated above ground level.
