Cree XLamp XB-D

Designed to enable lower system costs for lighting manufacturers, the XLamp XB-D LED claims to double the lumens per Rand of previously available LEDs. Built on Cree’s SC³ technology platform, the white LED delivers up to 139 lumens and 136 lumens per Watt in cool white (6000 K) or up to 107 lumens and 105 lumens per Watt in warm white (3000 K), both at 350 mA and 85°C.

XLamp XB-D colour LEDs extend the double lumens-per-Rand performance of the XB package to colour LEDs, delivering up to 40% higher maximum light output than XP-E colour LEDs. The combination of performance and small size of XB-D colour LEDs enable better colour mixing and lower system cost.

Li-FePO4 battery

On display from EEMB will be a rechargeable lithium iron phosphate battery with a nominal voltage of 3,2 V per cell. Because of its non-toxicity, the high abundance of iron, its excellent thermal stability, safety characteristics, good electrochemical performance, longer cycle life and high specific capacity, it is widely used in electric vehicles.

The battery features a cycle life of more than 2000 times (charge and discharge at 1°C, 80% capacity retention after 2000 cycles) and elevated safety with no fire or explosion in overcharge testing with voltage up to 30 V and in short-circuit test, nail test and heat shock up to 130°C. It has a discharge rate up to 10°C and a working temperature range from -10°C to 60°C.
