National Electronics Western Cape organiser's report

29 May 2013 News

The first regional National Electronics Western Cape exceeded expectations and welcomed visitors from around South Africa.

Despite the heightened security onsite at Cape Town International Convention Centre following the World Economic Forum, the team behind National Electronics Week South Africa were encouraged by the steady flow of visitors to the first regional event in South Africa titled National Electronics Western Cape.

Introducing this smaller, one day networking event with the support of ADEC (Association Distributors of Electronics Components) and Technoimprese (the team behind the Fortronic Lite Conference) we welcomed over 300 visitors from around the country. Visitors travelled from all around the Western Cape and from as far afield as Durban, Pretoria and Johannesburg to meet, network and build new business relationships. Early reports from exhibitors confirm sales were made and strong future projects were discussed.

The FortronicLite conference, which came to SA for the first edition this year, saw a healthy level of attendees and we are pleased to announce they will be returning with us to National Electronics Week in Johannesburg in March 2014.

The mix of exhibitors was strengthened by the ongoing support and relationship with ADEC who worked with us to ensure the success of this event. Additionally our media partners once again stepped up to help get the message of this international event to the correct audience.

The 2014 event is already looking strong and international exhibitors are already committing to bring new products and services to the show. We have also had confirmation of the support from the UKTI (UK Trade and Investment) to bring a UK pavilion to the event and will once again be working with our partners Tecnoimprese to deliver Italian companies to bring in new technologies and innovations.

This will of course be supported by our great range of national exhibitors who cover a host of services.
