Board support system for Juki equipment

7 August 2013 Manufacturing / Production Technology, Hardware & Services

Production Solutions, manufacturer of the RED-E-SET board support system, announced a new supplier relationship with Juki Automation Systems in terms of which Juki will offer the RED-E-SET systems on its SMT placement equipment and printers. Juki demonstrated the RED-E-SET ML and RED-E-SET SZ GO! on its placement equipment and printers at the SMT/Hybrid/Packaging 2013 exhibition and conference in Nuremberg, Germany.

The ML units work with most inline screen printers, dispensers, placement machines, chip shooters and many AOI systems. Models also are available for semi-automatic machines. The GO! is a cost-effective tooling solution designed for applications that do not require rigid fixed height support.

The RED-E-SET SZ centre support provides self-adjusting automatic board support, ideal for pick-and-place users that want to eliminate setup completely. When combined, the centre support and GO! increase machine utilisation and uptime while reducing labour costs associated with board setup.

Understanding solder dross: causes and control strategies
Truth Electronic Manufacturing Editor's Choice Manufacturing / Production Technology, Hardware & Services
Dross formation is an inevitable consequence of wave soldering. It occurs when molten solder comes into contact with oxygen, forming metal oxides that float on the surface of the solder bath. Over time, this oxidation byproduct accumulates and must be removed to maintain solder quality and process consistency.
