K Measure has expanded its range of benchtop power supplies with the PPS-2320A from Hantek, a 3-channel unit with variable voltage of 0 – 32 V and variable current of 0 – 3 A per channel. Two channels can be connected in series to put out up to 64 V, in parallel to give up to 6 A, or in a split-rail configuration for -32 V – 0 – +32 V. The third channel can be set to 2,5 V, 3,3 V or 5 V.
The interface is completely digital, which provides some important advantages over analog adjustment. For instance, one can set the voltage and current to new values on the display and only at the final press of a button will the actual output be adjusted. This means changing from 5 V to 12 V, for example, can be done via a very clean and instant switchover.
Another advantage of the digital interface is that five preset configurations can be restored at the touch of a button. Other features include the ability to change the voltage/current increment values when adjusting them with the knob, and locking the values so they can’t be changed accidentally.
The PPS-2320A comes with a USB port and software that enables the user to monitor the voltage and current, to control it from a PC, and to log voltage and current values. The USB interface provides for very handy applications, for instance the ability to step the output voltage from 0 V to 30 V in 5 V increments and log the current that was drawn by a 40 Ω resistor. The logged voltage and current values can be exported to a CSV file for inclusion in reports.
The power supply runs silently, with the automatic fan only coming on for short times when high currents are drawn.
The PPS-2320A comes with software and crocodile and power cables and is available from stock, with free delivery and is shipped within 24 hours.
