These ferrite-based product families preserve signal integrity by filtering EMI generated by active components, coupling from DC power lines and broadcasting from the ambient environment.
The company produces cores for round, ribbon and flex cables and wiring, designed to filter low frequencies (300 kHz to 30 MHz), high frequencies (300 MHz or 2 GHz) or broadband (30 MHz to 1 GHz). They are most frequently used to suppress EMI on the internal data cable assemblies of electronic equipment.
Laird includes a selection of ‘split’ components for retrofit and post-assembly operations. Similar in performance to the one-piece core designs, these split ferrite cable cores provide excellent differential and common mode EMI suppression on both flat and round cable assemblies. Lightweight, inexpensive metal or plastic end-clips provide secure closure of the ferrite onto the cable.
