Mean Well’s new HVG(C)-65 family of 65 W power supplies for LED lighting feature a broad 180 – 528 V a.c. input range and provide constant voltage and constant current. The HVG-65 series are low-voltage output models (54 V d.c. max.) while HVGC-65 offers higher output voltages (up to 186 V d.c.).
The power units feature two-stage power factor correction, allowing them to meet the harmonic current limitation per EN61000-3-2 Class C (>60% load) and maintain a power factor in excess of 0,9 when loading over 60%. In addition, they possess 4 kV surge immunity (EN61000-4-5) which complies with the requirements of the lighting industry.
The HVG(C)-65 series is available in three models: the A type of HVG-65 allows users to adjust DC current range from 60% to 100% and output voltage ±10% by removing the rubber stopper on the cover, while with A type of HVGC-65, users can adjust DC current range from 60% to 100%; B type models have a three-in-one dimming function (0 - 10 V d.c., PWM, resistance); and D type models (optional) are equipped with a multiple-stage timer dimming function that can be customised upon request.
The new power supplies boast up to 90,5% efficiency and can be cooled by free air convection from -40°C to +70°C ambient temperature. Their aluminium case design, fully potted by glue, makes them suitable for harsh outdoor environments requiring up to IP65/67 protection.
In addition to standard protections against short circuit, over-voltage, overload and over-temperature, the units comply with global certificates per UL/CUL/FCC for HVG-65 and UL/CUL/ENEC/CB/FCC/CE for HVGC-65, including UL8750, ENEC EN61347-2-13 and EN62384 lighting regulations.
They are suitable for use in LED lighting applications that require a high input voltage range, such as LED street lighting, LED high bay lighting, LED office lighting, outdoor displays and LED decorative lighting.
