The low-profile rectangular shape of the new Synios E4014 from Osram Opto Semiconductors enables the light from this LED to be injected into light guides, making them particularly suitable for visually enhancing white goods and for lighting systems in vehicles and displays.
The low height (0,57 mm) of the Synios, combined with its footprint of 4 x 1,4 mm, provides a sound basis for low-profile elongated luminaire and lighting designs, such as for backlighting displays. It is not equipped with a lens so it can easily be used for injecting light into a light guide.
The LED features brightness of 41 lumens and a colour rendering index (CRI) of 80, and covers colour temperatures from 4000 K to 5000 K. Housed in a robust plastic package, it boasts highly uniform light distribution and a long lifetime of around 50 000 hours. In view of the intended applications, the ESD stability is 5 kV.
