Aptina is now shipping the AR1011HS, a 4K (3840 x 2160 pixel) image sensor for security and surveillance markets.
The 10,8 megapixel, 1” optical format image sensor combines high-resolution imaging with a large 3,4 μm DR-Pix (Dynamic Response-pixel) that dynamically adapts to deliver superior low-light performance. At full resolution, the device offers 60 frames per second (fps) video, jumping to 120 fps for 1080p HD mode.
For cameras that require a smaller optical format, the AR1820HS is an 18 megapixel, ½” optical format model. It offers a robust summing mode in 1080p HD that boosts signal-to-noise ratio by 6 dB while lowering overall operating power.
Both image sensors deliver a powerful portfolio of full resolution, 4K and 1080p HD video modes that do not sacrifice wide dynamic range or image quality. They enable solution providers to eliminate mechanical subsystems for PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) and offer high-resolution electronic PTZ that doesn’t sacrifice image quality or wide field of view.
