Passive Components

Automotive qualified resistors and inductors

27 August 2014 Passive Components

Available from Panasonic is a broad range of AEC-Q200 qualified surface-mount passive components for automotive and other high-reliability systems.

For example, the company’s ERA series of thin film chip resistors uses a moisture resistant (anti-oxidation) overcoat to ensure stability over lifetime. Furthermore, its wide range of current sensing resistors is produced using various technologies in case sizes from 0402 to 2512. Taking advantage of their improved material and structure, these resistors can handle high power in a relatively small case, and they are applicable from -55°C to +155°C.

The power choke coils of the ETQP range use a metal composite core which is suitable for high-temperature operation up to 150°C for 2000 hours, and can withstand vibrations reaching 30 G. The parts feature excellent DC bias characteristics and low audible noise.
