Mean Well has introduced two new families of DIN-rail mounted power supplies providing 40 W and 60 W for industrial and security applications.
With features tailored to modern industrial applications, the DRA-40 and DRA-60 series boast output voltage adjustment, protection functions and current adjustment via 1 – 10 V d.c., PWM signal or resistance. These also make them well suited to LED lighting, where current adjustment can be used to alter LED brightness. They are available in variants with 12 V or 24 V d.c. output with front-panel adjustment, and integrate protection against short circuit, overload and over-voltage.
Then, designed to meet the requirements of the security sector are the DRC-40 and DRC-60 series with 13,8 V or 27,6 V output. In addition to their primary output, a charger output is provided for use in conjunction with an external battery to construct a security system with DC UPS functionality.
DRC-40 and DRC-60 standard models employ a TTL signal and relay contact, respectively, to provide the AC OK and battery-low alarm signals (the DRC-40 series also has an optional model with a relay contact). Standard functions include short circuit, overload and over-voltage protection, battery-low cutoff, battery reverse polarity protection by fuse, and front-panel DC voltage adjustment.
All of the above power supplies can be mounted on TS-35/7.5 or TS-35/15 DIN rail, and accept inputs across the full 90 – 264 V a.c. range. They are designed to operate fanless in temperatures from -30°C to +70°C, are certified to UL/CUL/CB/TUV/CE safety regulations and meet the requirements of IEC60950-1 Limited Power Source (LPS).
