MOSFETs for industrial applications

International Rectifier has launched a family of DirectFET MOSFETs for industrial applications requiring ultra-low on-state resistance (Rds(on)) including high-power DC motors, DC/AC inverters and high-current switching applications such as active ORing, hot swap and eFuse.
The new 7 x 9 x 0,7 mm Large Can devices’ Rds(on) performance leads to lower conduction losses and improved system efficiency. They provide dual-side cooling that can maximise thermal transfer and help increase power density. DirectFET also has an optimum die-to-footprint ratio, leading to a reduction in board space.
As with the entire DirectFET family, the new industrial Large Can has wire bond-free construction for improved reliability. Moreover, the package meets all RoHS requirements such as a completely lead-free bill of materials, and is, therefore, well suited for long lifecycle designs. Alternative high performance packages feature lead die attach under RoHS exemption 7(a) which is due to expire in 2016.
