Simco-Ion’s FMX-004 fieldmeter is a compact, handheld electrostatic field meter used for locating and measuring static charges. Its pocket size makes it handy to use and four-button operation makes it easy to operate.
Power on/off, zero adjustment, mode and hold functions all feature pushbutton operation. The hold button allows the display to retain the static charge reading – especially useful in situations where the display is difficult to see during measurement.
The instrument measures static voltages within ±30 kV (30 000 V) at a distance of 2,54 cm. Results are simultaneously displayed numerically and in bar graph format on a digital colour display. Additional features to aid usability include distance ranging lights, an audible alarm, an analog output for feeding signals to a chart recorder or other external device, and automatic shut-off to conserve the meter’s battery life.
