250 Watt quarter-brick converter

Calex announced the production release of the QMW DC-DC converter with 9 to 36 V input range and an isolated, precisely regulated 12 V output. Housed in a 6 x 4 x 1,27 cm quarter-brick package, it achieves efficiency of 92%, operates at a fixed frequency and follows conservative component derating guidelines.

The device will operate from a no-load condition up to the maximum 20,5 A output current, and features line and load regulation of 0,2%. Load transient overshoot is 5% and the load transient recovery time is 500 μs. Other operating figures include switching frequency of 275 kHz, output voltage setpoint accuracy of ±1%, and output noise of 120 mV peak to peak.

The QMW features on/off functionality with a low idle current of 20 mA, ideal for battery powered applications. It is protected against over-voltage, input reverse polarity, thermal overload and short circuit conditions. The mean time before failure is 8,6 million hours and the unit is backed by a five-year warranty.
