DC-DC converters in DIN rail format

10 June 2015 Power Electronics / Power Management

The DDC15 and DDC30 series of low-profile 15 Watt and 30 Watt DIN rail format DC-DC converters, introduced by XP Power, are designed to offer additional voltages in DIN rail power systems, provide isolated outputs and noise immunity or support battery-powered or battery-backed applications.

The single-output converters accommodate the wide 4:1 input range from 9 – 36 V, suiting a 12 or 24 V nominal input. Both series are available with a choice of a 5, 9, 12, 15 or 24 V nominal output, and the DDC15 model is additionally available with a 3,3 V output. Input to output isolation is 1500 V d.c. The front panel hosts two LEDs that provide indication of DC input status, along with access to screw terminals for input and output connections. The DDC30 front panel also includes a potentiometer for output voltage adjustment.

These slim, convection cooled units measure 91 x 56,5 x 18 mm for the DDC15 and 91 x 56,5 x 35 mm for the DDC30. Capable of operating over a wide temperature range from –40°C to +70°C, the converters deliver full power up to +50°C and suit use in most environments where the application requires extended operating temperatures.

The DDC15 and DDC30 ranges have internationally recognised safety approvals for UL508 (industrial control equipment) and IT approvals per EN60950-1 A12:2011 and IEC60950-1 +A1:2009. They also meet the Class B EN55022 specification for both radiated and conducted emissions without the need for any additional filtering components.
