Adhesive dots to secure PCB modification wires

When adding modification wires to printed circuit boards (PCB) for repair or circuit modification, there are many alternatives including cyanoacrylates, UV curing adhesives, hot melts, epoxies or silicones. Flextac tape dots from Intertronics provide an alternative that is both quick and simple.

The dots are a wire tacking system consisting of pre-cut shapes of a thin, flexible polymer film membrane coated on one side with adhesive. The adhesive is high performance, electronics grade and pressure sensitive, resulting in a highly conformable, high strength permanent bond. Despite very good initial bond strength, they can be repositioned if necessary during and immediately after initial bonding without causing adhesive transfer or loss of bond strength. The bond stabilises over a 72 hour period.

The Dots themselves are clear and so blend into the appearance of the board. The secure hold of the tape dots is not affected by exposure to chemicals such as flux cleaning solutions or to high humidity.
